Until the 1920’s the Indian was the most important motorcycle firm both for civil production, military and paramilitary. In 1924 the Los Angeles Police decided an original and extravagant experiment without continuation: an Indian Chief with “prison sidecar”. The policeman assigned to traffic control could directly imprison the transgressor eliminating every attempt to escape. Whoever violated the rules did not go to prison, it was the prison which went to him. The other motorists who saw the transgressor transported on that particular sidecar were not encouraged to violate the highway code and would behave with more respect for the rules. In Motorcycle Road Racing (i.e. Isle of Man TT) the paramedics ride superbikes too, following the racers, to be as fast as possible on the crash scene. – unfortunately the best doctor John Hinds used to race the super bikes for earliest responses for a crash scene passed away on 4th July 2015 during a practice race John Hinds was a Northern Irish doctor known for his contributions to high-speed motorcycle trauma medicine. also he volunteered for this as well what a hero! ...
